Raiser’s Edge NXT and HubSpot integration
RaiserSync brings your Raiser’s Edge NXT constituents and gifts into HubSpot within minutes of each change. Every gift lands as a Deal on the right contact or company, so your team can segment, personalize, and report on actual giving instead of working from last quarter’s export.
RaiserSync is a published HubSpot Marketplace app with pre-built mappings. Install it, connect both systems, and gifts start syncing. We maintain it, so you don’t have to pay for or look after a custom build.
We highly recommend RaiserSync™ to other nonprofits seeking to connect Raiser's Edge to HubSpot’s all-in-one marketing platform. It's made our work a lot more efficient since we don't have to worry about the manual exporting and importing process–but the biggest benefit has been to have more timely communication with our donors and see the revenue coming into our HubSpot dashboards daily.

What syncs
Your donor data, in HubSpot’s CRM where it belongs
RaiserSync uses HubSpot as a real CRM. Individuals become Contacts, organizations become Companies, and each gift becomes a Deal in its own Donation pipeline, attached to whoever gave it. That’s what lets you build fundraising reports in HubSpot, and it’s the part most Raiser’s Edge connectors skip.
| From Raiser’s Edge | Into HubSpot |
|---|---|
| Individual constituents | HubSpot Contacts. Standard and Plus. |
| Organization constituents | HubSpot Companies. Standard and Plus. |
| Gifts | HubSpot Deals in a Donation pipeline, associated to the contact or company. Standard and Plus. |
| Actions | Synced into HubSpot. Plus only. |
| Communication preferences | Do not email, mail or call, onto HubSpot contact records. Plus only. |
| Secondary email addresses | HubSpot contact records. Plus only. |
| Contact and company edits made in HubSpot | Raiser’s Edge constituent records, changed values only. Plus only. |
| HubSpot email opens and website activity | Raiser’s Edge custom fields. Plus only. |
Rows marked with a dot sync on both plans. Only mapped fields sync, and the mappings are the same for every customer.
What teams do with it
Thank first-time donors from the right appeal
When someone’s first gift syncs, a HubSpot workflow can enroll them in a welcome series written for the appeal or fund they gave to. Nobody has to pull a list and upload it on Monday.
Segment on real giving history
Build HubSpot lists of donors who gave last year but not this year, donors above a giving level, or organizations that have given more than once. Because gifts are Deals, those lists stay current as new gifts come in.
Report on revenue and marketing in one place
Put gift totals by month, campaign or fund on the same HubSpot dashboard as your email and website performance, and see which campaigns your donors interacted with before they gave.
Give development staff the marketing picture
Email opens and website activity write into Raiser’s Edge every three hours, so gift officers can see who has been reading your emails before they pick up the phone.
The details your data person will ask about
Timing
Gift, constituent and action changes in Raiser’s Edge usually reach HubSpot within a few minutes. RaiserSync listens for changes as they happen and queues them, so a large batch of gift entry gets worked through in order rather than dropped. On Plus, HubSpot engagement data writes to Raiser’s Edge every three hours.
Matching and duplicates
RaiserSync matches records on the Raiser’s Edge system record ID, which it stores on the HubSpot record. That ID never changes, unlike the editable constituent ID, so a constituent the integration has already synced won’t be duplicated. If no record has that ID yet, RaiserSync looks for a match by email address before creating a new one.
When records get created
On Standard, new HubSpot records are created from gifts. A constituent with no gifts appears in HubSpot after their first gift, and changes to existing constituents update their name, date of birth, country and fundraiser. On Plus, every new constituent is created in HubSpot whether or not they’ve given, and edits refresh the full set of mapped fields.
A log of every sync
Each sync event is recorded with its status — success, pending, skipped or failed — the record involved, the time, and how many retries it took. Failures come with a plain-language explanation, and temporary errors retry on their own. If someone asks why a gift isn’t in HubSpot, you can look it up instead of guessing.
Choose a plan
Standard is for teams that want gifts and donors in HubSpot for marketing and reporting. Plus is for teams that also want HubSpot updates and engagement data going back into Raiser’s Edge.
$247 per month or $2,497 per year
Gifts sync as Deals in a Donation pipeline. Contacts and Companies are created from gifts. Updates to existing constituents cover name, date of birth, country and fundraiser. Includes the sync log with automatic retries.
Nothing is written back to Raiser’s Edge.
$367 per month or $3,547 per year
Everything in Standard, plus new constituents created without a gift, updates across all mapped fields, Actions, communication preferences and secondary emails.
Contact and company edits made in HubSpot write back to Raiser’s Edge — changed values only — and email and website engagement writes to Raiser’s Edge every three hours.
Plans sync changes going forward. Bringing in historical gifts and constituents is a separate import project, which we can scope with you.
Raiser’s Edge stays your system of record
Your gift records are audited financial data, and we treat them that way. On both plans, gifts flow one way, from Raiser’s Edge into HubSpot. Nothing in HubSpot can create, change or delete a gift in Raiser’s Edge.
Plus adds a limited write-back for contact and company details. Only values that actually changed in HubSpot are sent, and an empty field in HubSpot never erases data in Raiser’s Edge. HubSpot engagement data goes into custom fields, so it sits alongside your constituent records without replacing anything your development team maintains.
Getting started
You’ll need a Raiser’s Edge NXT subscription and a HubSpot subscription.
- Install RaiserSync from the HubSpot Marketplace.
- Connect your Raiser’s Edge NXT account and choose a plan.
- New and updated gifts start syncing, and you can watch them arrive in the sync log.
Some teams are new to HubSpot, and some have Raiser’s Edge data that needs cleanup before it syncs well. Yodelpop is a HubSpot Platinum Solutions Partner that works with nonprofits, and we can help with HubSpot setup, data cleanup, and importing your historical giving.
Frequently asked questions
Does Raiser’s Edge NXT integrate with HubSpot?
Yes. RaiserSync is a HubSpot Marketplace app that syncs Raiser’s Edge NXT constituents and gifts into HubSpot, with gifts stored as Deals.
How quickly do gifts show up in HubSpot?
Usually within a few minutes of being entered or updated in Raiser’s Edge.
Will it create duplicate contacts?
RaiserSync matches on the Raiser’s Edge system record ID, which doesn’t change, so records it has already synced won’t be duplicated. For records it hasn’t seen before, it checks for an email match before creating anything new.
Does it bring over my past gifts?
No. RaiserSync syncs changes from the day you connect it. Historical data can be imported as a separate project, and we can scope that with you.
Does every Raiser’s Edge field sync?
No, only the mapped fields.
Can we change the field mappings?
No. RaiserSync uses the same pre-built mappings for every customer. That’s what keeps setup fast and lets us maintain and improve the app for everyone.
Can HubSpot overwrite our Raiser’s Edge data?
On Standard, nothing is written to Raiser’s Edge. On Plus, contact and company changes made in HubSpot are written back, but only changed values, and blank fields never overwrite existing data. Gifts are never changed from HubSpot.
Why isn’t a constituent showing up in HubSpot?
On Standard, constituents are added to HubSpot when they make a gift. On Plus, they’re added as soon as they’re created in Raiser’s Edge. You can also check the sync log for that record.
What happens when a sync fails?
Temporary errors retry automatically. Anything that still fails shows in the sync log with an explanation of what went wrong.
Get your gifts working in HubSpot
Install RaiserSync and your next gift in Raiser’s Edge will show up in HubSpot as a Deal a few minutes later. If you’d like help with setup, cleanup, or bringing in your giving history first, we’re happy to talk it through.
